Intro To Mechanics
A practical, hands-on workshop designed to help you understand your car and feel more confident looking after it yourself.
No previous knowledge or experience is needed. We’ll cover the everyday basics, including tyres, batteries, bulbs, wipers and essential fluids, with each task demonstrated before you get the chance to practise it yourself.
The focus isn’t just on showing you what to do, but helping you understand WHY it matters, what you should be looking for and when something might need further attention.
The aim is simple: You leave knowing your car better, feeling more confident with the basics and less reliant on someone else for every little thing.
What You'll Cover (an overview):
Meet Your Host | Laura Tebbs:
Laura is an amateur racing driver, Motorsport UK race scrutineer and hands-on car enthusiast who has spent years learning, building and modifying cars herself.
Her approach to car basics is simple: it’s not just about being told what to check or what to do — it’s about understanding why it matters!
She knows cars can feel intimidating when you’re starting out, especially when everyone seems to assume you already know the basics.
Laura teaches in a practical, straightforward and jargon-free way, helping people understand their own cars, feel more confident carrying out basic checks and maintenance, and make better-informed decisions when something doesn’t seem quite right.
With experience both behind the wheel and on the technical side of motorsport, she brings real-world knowledge to the sessions while keeping everything approachable, relaxed and beginner-friendly.
